JAY Z Covers “Vanity Fair” Nov ’13 Issue.

jay-z-november-2013-cover

Jigga man who Jigga man what, I have to say Shawn Carter aka Jay Z is actually looking good. Check out the interview below.  I love how Jay Z  is talking about family life and his career.

Shawn Carter, better known as Jay Z, tells Vanity Fair contributing editor Lisa Robinson in the November issue that although his wife, Beyoncé, says that their 18-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy, prefers Jays music to hers, hes not so sure. Thats not true. She does like her mothers musicshe watches [Beyoncés concerts] on the computer every night. But my album came out and I dont know if Blue ever heard any of my music prior to this albumshes only 18 months old and I dont play my music around the house. But this album was new, so we played it. And she loves all the songs. She plays a song and she goes, More, Daddy, more . . . Daddy song. Shes my biggest fan. If no one bought the Magna Carta [album], the fact that she loves it so much, it gives me the greatest joy. And thats not like a cliché. Im really serious. Just to see herDaddy song, more, Daddy. Shes genuine, shes honest, because she doesnt know it makes me happy. She just wants to hear it.
Jay tells Robinson that Barack Obamas 2008 election actually renewed my spirit for America. It was like, Oh, wow, man, this whole thing about land of the free, home of the . . . its, like, realits going to happen, everyones getting to participate in it. But growing up, if you had ever told a black person from the hood you can be president, theyd be like, I could never . . . If you had told me that as a kid, Id be like, Are you out of your mind? How?
Jay tells Robinson that his mother knew he was dealing drugs as a teenager, but we never really had those conversations. We just pretty much ignored it. But she knew. All the mothers knew. It sounds like How could you let your son . . . but Im telling you, it was normal.
Jays checkered past taught him a few things that he says will come in handy in his new role as a sports agent: I know about budgets. I was a drug dealer, he tells Robinson. To be in a drug deal, you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up. Or if you want to start some sort of barbershop or car washthose were the businesses back then. Things you can get in easily to get out of [that] life. At some point, you have to have an exit strategy, because your window is very small; youre going to get locked up or youre going to die.
Speaking about his childhood, Jay tells Robinson they did the best they could to make ends meet: We were living in a tough situation, but my mother managed; she juggled. Sometimes wed pay the light bill, sometimes we paid the phone, sometimes the gas went off. We werent starving we were eating, we were O.K. But it was things like you didnt want to be embarrassed when you went to school; you didnt want to have dirty sneakers or wear the same clothes over again.
While he was growing up, Jay says, crack was everywhere it was inescapable. There wasnt any place you could go for isolation or a break. You go in the hallway; [there are] crackheads in the hallway. You look out in the puddles on the curbscrack vials are littered in the side of the curbs. You could smell it in the hallways, that putrid smell; I cant explain it, but its still in my mind when I think about it.
Jay tells Robinson he sold crack but never used it, and when asked if he ever felt guilty about contributing to what was becoming an epidemic, he says, Not until later, when I realized the effects on the community. I started looking at the community on the whole, but in the beginning, no. I was thinking about surviving. I was thinking about improving my situation. I was thinking about buying clothes.

Kim Kardashian Lands on Cover of CR Fashion Book

cr-fashion-book1

MATERNAL INSTINCTS: Kim Kardashian may have given birth to daughter North West in June, but in the upcoming issue of Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book, the press-hungry reality star is pregnant again. That’s part of the territory of publishing a biannual magazine, as Kardashian was shot for the title’s cover feature back in May, just before the year’s second-most-famous newborn made her way into the world.
Roitfeld spun the prenatal images as a “precious moment of Kim’s pregnancy that people haven’t seen” — and the ideal tribute to the issue’s theme of hope. “Pregnancy is something that I always love. It’s about hope and the future and a new baby,” she explained.
Roitfeld was careful to distinguish CR Fashion Book from the celebrity weeklies that rabidly track the Kardashian clan’s quotidian activities. “This is not something for a gossip magazine that goes into the trash. This is a magazine that is a collector’s item,” she claimed.
The CR Fashion Book shoot was lensed by Karl Lagerfeld and art-directed by Riccardo Tisci, who are both tight with Roitfeld. The editor gave credit to Tisci — who is a friend of Kanye West, Kardashian’s fiancé and father of North West — for coming up with the idea.
The shoot at Lagerfeld’s private photography studio in Paris was the night before the high-wattage amfAR gala in Cannes, France. “Karl likes to shoot in the evening,” said Roitfeld of the session, which stretched to about 2 a.m., with Roitfeld flying to Cannes the following morning. “It was hard work. I’m a grandma. But I learned from Karl to never be tired.”
The results display Kardashian in her full, gravid glory, under the heading “Miss USA.” The layout includes images of her exposed belly, another where she dons a Yankees cap and one where her pout is smeared with jam.
“What I try to do with this magazine is work with people who are family — like Riccardo and Karl and Tom [Ford] and Hedi [Slimane]. I like the idea of mixing people,” said Roitfeld of the Tisci-Lagerfeld pairing. “Riccardo is not frightened by Karl. A lot of people are frightened by Karl — he’s a legend and an icon. But Riccardo is very cool with him. They have fun together.”
Also in the 340-page issue, on newsstands Sept. 12, Slimane contributes a quartet of portraits of young male artists and Gus Van Sant offers up a portfolio of his own paintings, male nudes in landscapes. A Bruce Weber shoot graces the reverse cover of the magazine, featuring model Emily Ratajkowski in a threesome. (Her previous claim to fame was prancing nearly nude in Robin Thicke’s controversial “Blurred Lines” video.) Inside, Karlie Kloss frolics topless in the Montauk, N.Y., surf for Weber’s camera.

Here is my thought on these pictures of Kim Kardashian while she was pregnant.  She should had told them HELL NO.

Its bad enough that Kanye friend Ricarrdo Tisci, had her looking a hot mess at the MetGala 2013 by Vogue and now these horrible pictures. .

cr-fashion-book3

I will say as by this being Kim first time being pregnancy. These pictures should had been flawless.  They should had represent something more GLAM.  More  sensual to being a first time mother in a high profile magazine.  These pictures are not it.  They should had gave Kim something where she would had been proud to show her daughter on how she look.

Kim Kardashian is not Haute Couture. or even high fashion.  Sorry Kim I was rooting for you but once again you let your babydaddy boyfriend clown you once again.

Kerry Washington – Flare Magazine cover October 2013

Mrs. Kerry Washington is a force that is not stopping anytime soon.  Here we have Kerry on the cover of Flare Magazine for the October Issue.

Here is excerpt from the article:

“Doing that show scares me more than anything else I do,” says Kerry Washington. She’s not talking about Scandal, the hit ABC series that has catapulted her from respected film actress to household name. She’s referring to Real Time With Bill Maher, HBO’s political talk show, where she has made several appearances over the years looking, in fact, quite poised while holding forth on topics such as the AIG bailout and the relative merits of affirmative action. Washington assures me that despite appearances, when she does Maher’s show, she’s freaking out on the inside. “I am cramming in the green room like it’s a presidential debate,” she says. “It drives me crazy when artists go on shows like that and don’t sound informed. It gives us a bad name.”
